ArmGuard was developed to align with the AORN recommendation ‘not to tuck’ the arms. (wrap the arms in a blanket that is kept in place under the patient)
In contrast to tucking, ArmGuard:
- can be installed alone
- does not create pressure points under the patient
- does not create neurological damage
- give easy access to perfusion througouth the intervention
- covers and protects the hand
- does not compromise TOF
- stabelize the patient in sidewards tilt
ArmGuard is kept in place by an L-shaped plastic placed under the table matress or is width-adaptable mounted on the side rail.
